Several species of pine exist, but the oil from the Siberian and Korean pine nuts are especially valued as a nutritional supplement. The oil from these kernels is rich in antioxidants and pinolenic acid – a fatty acid which is purported to protect, repair and strengthen the stomach and gastric lining through its anti-inflammatory properties. Siberian Pinenut oil has a distinctive nutty taste and aroma and is a clear yellow colour.
Suggested use:
Pinenut oil is primarily used as a nutritional supplement. Research indicates that oral consumption of the oil may help with appetite control, and digestive relief, particularly gastrointestinal disorders such as Acid Reflux, Gastritus, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
The oil is typically taken orally as is, but can be added to smoothies, yoghurt, and salads. Avoid applying heat to the oil in order to protect the oils heat sensitive polyunsaturated fats.
The oil is preferably kept in a fridge or in a cool space away from light, in order to preserve the healthy fatty acids.
Do not heat, not suitable for baking or frying. Use within 3 months of opening.
