N-Acetyl-L-Carnitine is a naturally occurring amino acid and is synthesized in the brain, liver, and kidneys. Carnitine helps in lipid metabolism, is a mitochondria anti-oxidant, and increases the production of acetylcholine. N-Acetyl-L-Carnitine has positive effects on the brain and neurological function. It is especially helpful when age-related changes have occurred on dopamine receptors that affect memory. It is beneficial for those with peripheral neuropathies resulting in pain.
